The Grodan planting cube measuring 5 x 5 x 4 cm is a practical growing medium. It is made from basalt wool and calcium by melting in a furnace at 1500 °C.
This produces 'stone' lava, which is further processed into thin fibres and then pressed into the desired shape. This process makes Grodan a completely sterile and inert medium.
The mineral wool (rockwool) has the ability to hold a large amount of water and also maintains a balanced air ratio, which ensures the unique development of the root system of the plant being grown.

USAGE:
NEVER forget to soak the rockwool (cubes, mats, grit, etc.) with sufficient lukewarm water (ideally 25°C) before use.
The water must be pH adjusted to 5.5 - 6,5
Allow the rockwool to drain properly to get rid of excess water - NEVER SQUEEZE, this will damage the fibre structure.
